THE OBJECT OF THE ACT OF GIVING MAKE ROTARY GODLY

Spread the love

I wish to welcome you all dear Rotarians and you future Rotarians to be inducted soon or later, of course not forgetting the non-Rotarians present (potential rotarians or simply people of good will).

To you our Sitting President Mayanja Aloysius, congratulations as you take on this lead during this rotary year in which service above self will remain the slogan of all (turns into a wireless cable) to Connect the entire World.

To you our CP, George (IPP), we wouldn’t have celebrated our 1st Charter anniversary, if you had not taken on the oar for the first time. Thank you for being inspirational.

At this family gathering, we are once again renewing our commitment of connecting the entire world through serving humanity and the world itself. By so doing we shall Co-create and Pro-create with our Creator following his dream (Gen 1:28), hence becoming responsible before him.

Long live rotary for improving on what God has put in place; for instilling hope to the hopeless, for sustaining lives, bringing smiles to the down trodden and again for restoring the Dignity which  Mother Nature had lost (thanks to the Hope of Mission Green).

Look, dear Rotarians, by serving above self, we live to God’s calling and purposeful existence; “Share your food with the hungry and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help. Then, your salvation will come like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind. Then when you call, the Lord will answer. ‘Yes, I am here’. He will quickly reply […]”. Is 58:7-9.

From the above writings which in our lives become the famous Imperatives-Indicatives, we find ourselves hitting the nail directly. i.e. striking the object of the act of giving!

You are a worthy Rotarian if you are imbibed by inward impetus to respond causes like feeding the hungry, those thirsty, helping sickness, and building resources for the common good.

We need therefore to learn the difference between the Art of giving and the Joy of giving. The joy is embedded in the conviction which one has and fights to pursue it through extending a hand to the “Other”. Through this, human beings end up maintaining their dignity as humans, for we were created to relate with one another, interrelation. And so the reverse will be true that; “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Mt 25:37-40).

Surely in Rotary you can never go wrong. We thank you all for having witnessed this memorable installation of the second president of our Club. RC Muyenga, rejoice for your son RC Bunga is growing day by day.

Enjoy your selves!
